The winemaker and his story

In Orschwihr, a winegrowing village on the southern stretch of the Alsace Wine Route, the Camille BRAUN family of grower-producers invites you to discover its estate, its passion for vines and its fine terroir-driven wines.

The estate is certified organic and Demeter biodynamic.

The BRAUN family’s presence in Alsace is documented as far back as 1593. Since then, generations of winemakers have followed from father to son.

The tasting

Appearance: The wine’s orange colour comes from two weeks of maceration before six months of ageing in a demi-muid (a large, thick-walled, highly durable barrel used to transport wines and spirits). The wine is also bottled during the period of the Lune Rousse.

Nose: A very powerful wine on the nose, with pronounced aromas of herbal infusions and dried herbs.

Palate: Notes of rose come through on the palate. The wine is full-bodied and dry, with well-integrated tannins.
