The Winemaker and His Story

Run by Josef UMATHUM, one of Austria’s leading wine producers and a staunch champion of local grape varieties, ZANTHO produces wines of incredible quality on an estate of around 50 hectares.

The estate’s philosophy of innovative tradition led it to become the first in the world to bottle its red wines with a glass stopper.

The famous terrace lizard found south-east of Vienna is protected in the nature park where ZANTHO’s vines grow.
